World Day Against Child Labour – 12 June

Hello lovely people,

Today is the World Day Against Child Labour so it seems like a good time to share a bit about this issue.

According to ILO (the UN’s International Labour Organisation), there are an estimated 120 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 involved in child labour, with boys and girls in this age group almost equally affected. That is HUGE and so sad. To give you an idea of just how big that is, the population of the U.K. is ~63 million, about half of that number!

Ethical Kink is proud to be one of a growing number of businesses committed to eradicating this practice. Together, we can continue to set a good example and put pressure on other businesses in the industry to consider more than just the bottom line.

For some more info on child labour in the fashion industry, you can check out this article from Philanthropy Age –

You can read the full article from ILO, and get a bunch more information on child labour on their website ––en/index.htm

Keep up the good work folks!

With love,
